Got to hold my hands up...when you compare the red scouse having the likes of Lovren....Lallana at at a mere 20 odd million each...I'd say we've done rather well in the transfer market.
Accusers smack of desperation...oh yes..so and so did great at Southampton last season...snap him up.

Bilic stated Payet was a man he wanted...I'm impressed .

Also out team were the fourth least expensive in the league with payet's signing accounting for nearly half of the £23 million it cost to assemble.

Read somewhere that it was the youngest starting eleven we have ever fielded in the PL. No one over 28.

Surely not?

Didn't realise that the side we beat Saturdsy was the most expensive ever fielded in a premier league game. !

Norf - we have all waited long enough for results like these mate. Hope you enjoy Tuesday night!

Re: Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-2 FT
Its all a bit surreal tbh. I found the second half tough viewing (I have seen so many leads lost over the years) but for all their domination City really only mustered 2 or 3 really good chances which fortunately Adrian and Reid and co were able to repel.

In some ways, the next away game in the league will be interesting when we start meeting sides we are going to get more possession against.

Anyway, lets enjoy the ride. These good times have not come along that often in the last 50 odd years. I hope this time it really is the dawn of us going up into the next tier of the league in the top 10 or higher on a regular basis would make a nice change from worrying about relegation every year :-)

Winston still the first name on the team sheet. OK, he wasn't as good last season as when he won HoTY but missed some games because of injury. This is why getting him to sign a new contract was so important.

On his day, he's our best and possibly most important player. If he can get back to the consistency of a couple of seasons ago then that would be brilliant.

I don't think I have seen a second half performance like Man city on Saturday, the pace and attacking was awesome. Taking Sterling off was imo a mistake but when we got the ball we played it out and didn't hoof it like the past and we have a lot to look forward to 🔨🔨🔨

Reid one of the best performances in a WHU shirt

Special mentions Sakho and Noble/Obiang

Tireless running and hold up play

Well done Slav, his game management seems spot on, Norwich next.....real chance to push on

Something for the songsters to work on there.

The other big London clubs seem to have twice as many fans there as we had.

Was Brady being a tight arse about the allocation we accepted or was that all that wanted to go?

Gazzetto dello Sport named Adrian as the European keeper of the week. Think Reid was better but nice to be recognised.

Special mention to Adrian, he was phenomenal once more.
Is it just me who thinks he could easily play Superman ?

He was flying and punching the ball, usually I hate punching the ball by a goalkeeper but he does it so well.

Away to Arsenal = 3 points
Away to Liverpool = 3 points
We've never won at both in the same season but then...
Away to Man City = 3 points
Wow...just wow

A reminder that Slaven Bilic is an anagram of 'Balls in Vice' - Wenger, Rodgers and Pellegrini, you have all been crushed by the Vice!
